Seattle Mariners 4, Texas Rangers 3 (12 Innings)
ARLINGTON The Texas Rangers finally lost a game, just their third in the last 15 games, in a 4-3 loss to the Mariners at Rangers Ballpark. While the loss prevented the Rangers from sweeping, they did manage to win their sixth straight series.
The loss also prevented the Rangers from attaining .500 for the first time since early April. Texas now sits at 20-22 with a series against Houston coming up next.
The Rangers played well enough to win, but an RBI single in the top of the 12th inning proved too much for Texas, who only managed one hit over the final four innings.
Rangers starter Scott Feldman pitched excellently once again, giving up just three runs --one of them earned-- and six hits over seven innings. Feldman's last start was a shutout, and the young righthander lowered his ERA to 3.45.
More than half of the Rangers hits came from just two hitters. David Murphy had another impressive outing, going 4-for-5 with an RBI and two doubles, while Michael Young went 2-for-6 with a run and an RBI.
