UTD device is on its way to Mars to test for life
UTD has sent a spectrometer on a Phoenix spacecraft to Mars. The device tests for water and signs of life. The spacecraft is expected to land on Mars May 25. Physicists from UTD have played a role in many previous space missions.

Pretty sure that my stepfather worked on the gas chromatograph. It analyzed gas content, anyway, don't know if chromatograph is the right word.
