The Texas Rangers played a decent game Monday night, but ultimately fell short in a 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Twins in Minneapolis. Second-string second baseman Howie Clark looped a single over Rangers centerfielder Josh Hamilton's head in the bottom of the 12th, allowing Carlos Gómez to score.

The loss was the second straight for Texas, and dropped the Rangers to 22-24 on the season.

Rangers starter Scott Feldman had his second straight poor performance, going just six innings and giving up five runs off seven hits. Feldman was relieved by a series of Ranger pitchers before struggling closer C.J. Wilson gave up the tying run in the ninth. Frank Francisco pitched a scoreless tenth and eleventh innings, but Franklyn Germán couldn't continue the streak and took his third loss of the year.

Despite the final play, Josh Hamilton had a good game, hitting 2-for-6 with a solo home run in the first inning. Hamilton became the first player in the majors to reach 50 RBI.

Ian Kinsler also hit a solo home run, in the third inning.
