Screen Door, one of the various restaurants at the new Arts Plaza in Dallas, opened today for lunch, says Chris W. at the DMN. The restaurant comes from Scott Jones, owner of Cafe Italia, whose Bishop Arts branch was recently shuttered, reportedly for not paying its rent. Chris W. got invited to a "private fete" at Screen Door on Saturday night where he sampled griddled ham & cheese sliders, BLTs, praline pecan chocolate tarts, and mint juleps. That's where he learned that the restaurant will add dinner hours in a couple of weeks.

I've just received an invitation. So I'm going to a party with my boy Scotty. What a great location!
