Coppell City Council schedules budget workshop

The Coppell City Council has scheduled a budget workshop for Thurs., May 22 at 6 p.m. in the 2nd floor conference room of Town Center. This budgetary planning event is open to the public.
Items to be considered include discussion of possible allocation of funds to the following service organizations, presented here in the order in which they will be discussed, along with the name of the person(s) who will be making the monetary plea:
* Coppell Historical Society (Barbara Lee)
* Christian Community Action (Nancy Kairo)
* Children’s Advocacy Center (Dan Leal)
* The Family Place (Paige Flink)
* Senior Adult Services (Mary Joiner)
* Metrocrest Social Services (Bunny Summerlin)
* Special Care & Career (Cathy Packard)
* Metrocrest Family Medical Clinic (Jane Wood Hawkins)
* Ballet Ensemble of Texas (Lisa Slagle Nicholson)
* Chamber of Commerce (Beverly Widner & Bill Holtz)
* Copperheads (Carl Rehling)
Finally, the mayor and council will present their budget.
Following the budget workshop there will be an executive session - behind closed doors - during which property acquisitions and economic development negotiations will be brainstormed.
