Dallas police corporal arrested for bribery

Dallas Police Senior Corporal Minh Tran, #8120, was arrested on Wednesday at about 7:00 p.m in the 2300 block of Lakeland. He was arrested in a Dallas Police Department operation and will be charged with Bribery, Felony/2nd, Texas Penal Code 36.02.
Earlier today, Public Integrity detectives received information alleging that Senior Corporal Tran was demanding and receiving money from a Vietnamese family in exchange for not reporting potential violations of gambling laws. Public Integrity Detectives immediately conducted an investigation and undercover operation. Senior Corporal Tran was taken into custody without incident. He will later be taken to the Lew Sterrett Justice Center. The incident will be recorded on case #150395V.
Senior Corporal Tran was assigned to the Northeast Patrol Division. He has been placed on Administrative leave pending the completion of an Internal Affairs investigation. Senior Corporal Tran has been employed by the Dallas Police Department since September, 2001.
