Irving solicits citizen input on boulevard design project
The City of Irving has grand designs for that section of Irving Boulevard between Hwy. 183 and Loop 12.
So grand, in fact, that in order to elaborate upon them they've published this 8+ megabyte .pdf file of the study commissioned to lay out their proposals, created with a mind toward fostering new retail and commercial development through visual enhancement of the area.
Residents of Irving (and business owners) are being invited to attend a presentation and discussion surrounding the proposed enhancements on June 12 at City Hall; there will be a reception at 5:30, followed by the presentation at 6 p.m.
Following the presentation, attendees will be able to share their thoughts, concerns and ideas regarding the project.
Says Paul Gooch, managing director of community services: "“This is a great opportunity to reflect on the boulevard’s history and purpose, while creating a new vision for the future that will bring to life this important gateway. Through this study, and with the community’s input, a road-map will be developed to help transform this area into a more vibrant and inviting destination.”
The study centers on visual characteristics - such as landscaping, lighting and gateway entries - in addition to traffic patterns, drainage systems and retail, commercial and residential developments

Try as Irving might, it's well known sanctuary city status still remains.

...Of which it should be well proud- and lay claim to much more convincing cosmopolitan cred than, say, the parochial, reactionary communities of Farmers Branch and Carolton, which have brought national shame and ridicule to our region.
As a 6th generation Dallasite, I'm exceedingly proud that Dallas was one of the earliest of the so-called "sanctuary cities".

Well, if by "anchor baby" you mean patra-lineal ancestory that dropped anchor on the Virginia coast in 1626 then perhaps so. Or perhaps you mean someone with an ancestor whose name is "anchored" to the wall of the Alamo? Got me there too.
What a backwards, parochial bigot. I know Bet you're from Farmer's Branch.
