Methodist ministers launch last-ditch effort to block Bush Institute think tank
DALLAS — Methodist clergy members Wednesday launched a public relations campaign in an effort to get their denomination to block use of church-owned land for a partisan think tank at SMU. The George W. Bush Presidential Library is a done deal, despite opposition by church members. The public policy institute, which was required in the Bush Presidential Library plans, is of concern because scholars would have no accountability to the university.
