So is anyone else completely uninspired by the name selection? Not that I had any other grand ideas, but I have to say none of these are too exciting. Unless maybe the short version of Eddie Bernice Johnson Pkwy becomes...well, I'll leave that one alone.

...and how did four extremely generic water-type names make the list? Really, what's the difference between all of those? Riverfront, Trinity Lakes, Trinityview, Waterfront

Again: Unless this was changed retroactively I don't see where this big switcheroo plot that you people have worked yourselves up about comes from.. Maybe you should have just paid more attention?

'This Industrial Blvd. street name change survey is for residents of Dallas, Texas and property and business owners on Industrial Blvd. The Dallas City Council will make the final decision on the street name, but will take into consideration the results of this survey; the testimony presented at the public hearing; the recommendations of the City Plan Commission, the Subdivision Review Committee, and the Subdivision Administrator; and the street name standards in Section 51A-9.304.'

but will take into consideration the results of this survey -- Clay, it may not be a switcheroo, but with multiple members of the city council saying they were going to disregard the survey results completely, it's not exactly a good faith demonstration either.

I'll say it again -- why do the survey in the first place if you're just going to disregard the results completely? If nothing else, what was the point? Why give the impression that you're letting citizens have input and then take away that impression when they vote for a name you don't like? It just doesn't make any sense from both a PR standpoint and a political standpoint.
