City of Rowlett accepting applications for Boards and Commissions
ROWLETT The deadline to apply for several positions available on City of Rowlett Boards or Commissions is fast approaching, and citizens wanting to get involved and share their expertise and insight on City issues are encouraged to submit applications. While the time commitment is minimal, the opportunity to make a difference in the community is significant. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2008.
Positions will be filled at the June 3 Council meeting for the following positions:
• Arts & Humanities Commission – 2 alternate positions
• Golf Advisory Committee – 1 alternate position
• Library Advisory Board – 1 alternate position
• Planning & Zoning Commission – 2 regular positions (if filled with the 2 existing alternates, then 2 alternate positions will be open)
• Traffic and Safety Advisory Committee – 1 regular & 1 alternate position (if regular position is filled with one of the existing alternates, then 2 alternate positions will be open)
• Youth Advisory Council – 1 adult sponsor, 14 students (senior and junior classification in September 2008)
Detailed descriptions of each board or commission and an application to serve are available online under the City Hall menu. Applications are available on-line or in the City Secretary’s office at City Hall, 4000 Main Street.
