Wait, man! McKinney pools are now open!

— Nothing is better on a hot Texas summer day than a nice, cool swimming pool. This holiday weekend marks the first days of use for McKinney's outdoor public pools. The Old Settlers Aquatic Center features a shallow water leisure pool complete with an open flume slide, cascading water fall and more. The Juanita Maxfield pool at North Park has family swim, swim lessons and floating amenities. The indoor heated pool at the Senior Center is open year round.

Following is the schedule each pool this Memorial Day weekend.

Old Settlers Aquatic Center, 1101 E. Louisiana St.

10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Saturday and Monday; 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday

Adults (10 and Older) $2; Youths (9 and Under) $1.25

Juanita Maxfield Aquatic Center, 1701 North McDonald

1 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. (family swim) Saturday; 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday; 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Monday

Adults (10 and Older) $1.75; Youths (9 and Under) $1.25

Senior Pool, 1400 South College

8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday; 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. (family swim) Sunday

6:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday; Adults (10 and Older) $1.75; Youths (9 and Under) $1.25
