Katy Ruff Riders 57, Frisco Thunder 43

Jermaine Alfred threw four touchdown passes and rushed for another, and Carlos Alsup score three times at the Katy Ruff Riders defeated the Frisco Thunder 57-43 in an Intense Football League game Saturday in the Merrell Center.

Frisco couldn't withstand the hard-charging Ruff Riders

The Ruff Riders (4-5) won their third straight game while Frisco (6-5) lost for the third time in its last four outings.

The Thunder held Katy scoreless the first quarter and took early leads of 7-0 and 14-7 before the Ruff Riders scored three unanswered touchdowns to take a 27-14 on Alfred's one-yard keeper with 12:10 remaining in the third quarter.

Frisco closed to 30-24 and 36-30 in the second half, but Katy answered each time and led by as many as 20 points.

Alfred finished 14 of 29 for 148 yards and threw his four touchdowns to four different receivers. Alsup rushed for 61 yards and two scores.

Back-up quarterback Wes St. Aubin (10-18-1, 126 yards) threw four second-half touchdowns for the Thunder after starter Wes Cooper (12-23-1, 132 yards, 2 TDs) left the game with an injury. Daron Lawrence caught 7 passes for 83 yards and four touchdowns, while Moses Harris had eight catches for 103 yards. Frisco gave up a season-high six turnovers.

Frisco travels to face defending IFL champion and unbeaten Louisiana next Saturday.
