Boasting sponsorships from Dallas Voice (a PegNews content partner), Fort Worth Weekly, Pride Radio and others, Fort Worth's Q Cinema will host a 10-day celebration of all things gay, lesbian and cinematic starting Thurs., May 29 and running through Sat., June 7.

This will be the tenth annual film festival put on by the non-profit organization (founded in 1999 as a discussion group), whose stated mission is to "provide a voice for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons by presenting films, videos and live programs that not only represent the diversity of the GLBT community but that educate, enlighten and entertain us all."

Things kick off at 7:30 on May 29 at the Rose Marine Theatre (where most of the screenings will take place) with the southwest premiere of Were the World Mine, followed by a bit of merriment called "A Presummer Night’s Dream Gala" slated for the banks of the Trinity at Flowers on the Square. At this post-movie venue there will be live music, food and cocktails along with "mischievous Pucks bearing pansies..." - you should really just read the event listing for yourself.

With at least one new screening slated for each night and multiple shows on the weekends encompassed by the festival's span, there's a lot to keep track of, so here's the complete schedule.

Notable events in addition to the film screenings include an evening with Leslie Jordan at the Scott Theater; a book signing (again featuring Mr. Jordan); a Hedwig and the Angry Inch sing-along; a mixed-media drag pageant (Miss Q Cinema); a staged reading (i.e., no costumes or sets) of The Full Monty (stage musical version); and the closing night awards ceremony hosted by standup comic Paul Williams. Interspersed throughout will be after-event parties and dinners, both planned and impromptu.
