Arlington mayor to give State of the City address June 10

— On Tuesday, June 10, Arlington Mayor Dr. Robert Cluck will give his annual State of the City address at a meeting hosted by the Arlington League of Women Voters. The event will be held at the Rolling Hills Country Club, 401 East Lamar Boulevard, Arlington. Doors open at 11:15 a.m. Reservations required at $25.00 a person.

“How is Arlington different today than it was a year ago? How will the Barnett Shale windfall funds be used? What is the city’s top priority? What does the immediate future hold?” says Tonya Presley, president of the Arlington League. “These questions and more will be answered when Mayor Cluck delivers his State of the City address,“ Presley said.

The League of Women Voters of Arlington, a non-profit and non-partisan organization of volunteers, holds frequent public forums on issues of concern to the community, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. LWVA’s mission is to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation of citizens in government. Membership is open to all citizens of voting age. Hopefully he'll address the "state of the water" and the "state of increased traffic" that congests every square inch of the city due to overbuilding of business and housing.
