FORT WORTH The Fort Worth International Center and the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce are hosting the 2008 Mayor’s Global Business Awards Wednesday. The luncheon honors local companies who contribute to international business activity in Fort Worth.
The presence of international business sets Fort Worth apart from other areas in Texas. According to Jim Falk, president and CEO of the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth, “DFW International Airport, the large number of international companies and our diverse labor force make North Texas the #1 strategic location for international business. This is helping us weather the economic storms that are affecting so many other parts of the country.”
Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief will announce the winners from the small, medium and large business categories. Lee Cullum, host of CEO on KERA will conduct an interview with the winners. One company will also win the Kenneth Barr International Flagship Award, which recognizes their dedication to long-term business development in Tarrant County.
