Truck hits DART rail train at West End in Dallas during Wednesday morning commute

A pickup truck ran into a DART rail train on Wednesday morning at approximately 7 a.m. in downtown Dallas.
The unidentified driver hit a northbound blue-line train just before the West End stop, at the intersection of Market Street. The collision caused a clogging of vehicular traffic in the downtown area as police blocked access to Market Street, and trains both northbound and southbound were delayed by approximately an hour. At least four police cars and a fire truck responded to the accident.
An old man who witnessed the accident could be heard giving his account to a cop on the patio of Corner Bakery, saying incredulously, "That truck hit that train! How a truck gonna hit a train??"
There appeared to be no injuries, and the trains resumed operation by 8 a.m.
