Dallas marks 20th anniversary of single member council districts
DALLAS This month the Dallas City Council is commemorating the 20th anniversary of "14-1," a judges' ruling in a voters' rights case that created 14 single-member districts to replace the at-large council districts approved by voters. KERA reports the precedent-setting case may influence the outcome of a similar case filed in Farmers Branch this week. KERA will also air a radio documentary on the history of Dallas' council structure Thursday at 6pm.
