Pegasus News Week in View: Dog Days Edition

0

Howdy loyal friend o' Pegasus,

After a trip to jail Friday, I've enjoyed the sweet smell of freedom all week. Landlords in Farmers Branch have also found themselves free — from the hassles of determining their tenants' residency status — after a federal judge found the town's council- and voter-affirmed ordinance unconstitutional. But former Dallas councilman James Fantroy relinquished his chance to admit guilt and will spend a month behind bars for it.

Ways we're currently bribing you to spend more time with us

This week winning a contest is literally a piece of cake. You can also see Joe Ely (who can be heard onThe Clash's "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" en español) live at Poor David's Pub. We've also got free passes for a VIP behind-the-scenes meet 'n' greet and preview screening with funny man Bill Engvall. Opt in to The Daily You to improve your chances to win unique UnContests, and check back daily for new promotions added throughout the week.

Metro: Best Southwest Citizen reports on the need for board and commission appointees in Duncanville. McKinneyNews.net reports on Collin County teachers in Jamaica. Also coming soon in Collin County ... a new Planned Parenthood (so you know where Pegasus staffers will be cruisin' this weekend). Richardson Echo reports on council efforts to go green. Williamedia also weighs in on public digital media in Dallas (and he's not talking about what people are viewing on library computers). Pam Gerber confirmed Ed Oakley is running for his former Dallas Council seat. Our own public transit-commuting programmer David also brought us live coverage of a truck-meets-train DART accident despite his lack of an iPhone.
