— Popular Middle Eastern restaurant Ali Baba Cafe will close down its Greenville Avenue location for good on Friday May 30, confirmed an employee.

The restaurant is moving into the old Carrabba's location in Lakewood in about a week or so, depending on the progress of construction.

That's great news.

Like the guy in the linked article says: "Greenville Avenue isn't what it used to be"

I gave up trying to park anywhere near this terrifc restaurant's Greeville location. And not feeling it is worth it to attempt finding a side street residential parking space. Of course I had a similar experience trying to park in Lakewood, but hey.... change boils and lance.

By now, the thought of going anywhere on this strip of Greenville sounds about as tempting as a blind date with a corpse. Case in point: LOVED the last time I sat 'outside' at Gloria's, having a margarita while inhaling gas fumes as motorcycles paraded in formation proudly up and down the street, making my cocktail converstaion like Happy Hour on a DFW landing strip.

Prediction: Someday Avi Adelman will have nothing to complain about. Except his property value.
