Planned Irving curb appeal projects begin to bear beautification fruit
Three key "curb appeal" projects are slated for completion by the City of Irving's Construction and Building Services Dept. before the end of 2008.
First off, two entry gateways are being constructed - featuring a bronze horse sculpture - on MacArthur Blvd.: one where it intersects with Shady Grove and the other where it crosses Wethered Street.
Also, two "Welcome to Irving" signs will be installed at MacArthur/Hunter Ferrell and Belt Line/Hunter Ferrell.
Much like the Irving Blvd beautification project, there's also one in play for the MacArthur corridor. Already completed are the pocket park at Grauwyler and the landscaping along the west side of MacArthur (from Hwy. 183 to Rochelle Rd.). Further corridor improvements are planned for the southern part of MacArthur, including medians, street lights, "fresh" traffic signs, native plantings and intersection spiffing up (at Shady Grove and Sixth St.).
