Dallas Mavericks 95, Minnesota Timberwolves 85
Former Timberwolf Gerald Green scored five in the Mavs' 7-0 run in the fourth quarter.
The Dallas Mavericks grabbed their first win of this two-game-old regular season with the help of a former Timberwolf, Gerald Green.
Dallas' lead peaked by 12 in the first half, but was mostly lost by halftime. The third quarter was marked by a five-minute stretch in which both teams combined for one field goal, scored by the Mavs. But Green stepped up to the plate in the fourth quarter, scoring five of Dallas' 7-0 run that put the Mavs up 78-69. From there Dallas didn't let go of their sizeable lead, comfortably sliding into the 95-85 win. Nowitzki took 21 points in the win, while Jason Terry had 19 and Josh Howard added 14 to his final tally.
