Cam Montgomery had 130 yards rushing on 21 carries and a touchdown to help the University of North Texas Mean Green pick up their first victory of the 2008 season beating Western Kentucky 51-40 in Bowling Green, KY. The victory is Head Coach Todd Dodge's third victory in two years, two against the Hilltoppers who are considered a provisional member of the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, stuck half way between the highest division and the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision. The win helps UNT avoid a winless season.
The Mean Green won the game despite being out-gained in total yards 504 to 387. The Mean Green defense did, however, force four turnovers including three interceptions, one which was returned 97 yards for a touchdown by Junior linebacker Tobe Nwigwe. UNT quarterback Giovanni Vizza completed 23 of 37 for 214 yards, four touchdowns and only one interception. Senior receiver Brock Stickler had eight receptions for 86 yards and two touchdowns.
The win leaves UNT 1-8 on the year. The Mean Green are on the road again next week as they travel to Boca Raton, Florida to take on the Owls of Florida Atlantic University.
TCU
The TCU Horned Frogs routed the University of Nevada Las Vegas Running Rebels in Las Vegas 44-14 to set up a Thursday night showdown with the Utah Utes in Salt Lake City, UT for the Mountain West Conference Championship and a possible Bowl Championship Series birth. The Frogs ran their record to 9-1 with the win.
The Frogs used a strong effort by almost everyone on the team with three players rushing over 50 yards and in TCU-esque fashion, holding on to the ball for over 34 minutes to control the pace of the game. Quarterback Andy Dalton was his usual efficient self passing for three touchdowns while completing 16 of 29 for 151 yards and rushing for 52 yards.

No want about it. They're getting their new stadium which was voted in when they were 0-7.

Well, see, the problem is they keep playing in the old, rickety stadium, and that's why they keep losing.
