DSO and United Negro College Fund partner with Smokey Robinson for fundraiser

The United Negro College Fund (UNCF), the nation’s oldest and most successful minority education assistance organization, today announced a fundraising partnership with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO). Legendary performer Smokey Robinson, who last year received UNCF’s highest honor, the UNCF Award of Excellence, will perform on November 22, 2008 with the DSO. Net proceeds from concert sponsorships and special patron packages will benefit both organizations.

- Where: Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora Street, Dallas
- Cost: $33 - $110
- Age limit: All ages
Annually, UNCF supports more than 60,000 students at 900 U.S. colleges and universities, including more than 4,500 Texas students. The Dallas Symphony’s mission is to entertain, inspire and change lives through musical excellence which is achieved through more than 225 performances a year.

Sponsorship packages begin at $5,000. Individuals can purchase the Concert Patron Package for $500 per couple.
