The North Texas Film Critics Association (NTFCA) met in Dallas on Sunday, Nov. 2 (at the Denny's on Fitzhugh and Central) to determine the deadline for balloting on their top-rated films for 2008.

The NTFCA was instituted to promote the publication and broadcast of film reviews, and to bring together those individuals engaged in the practice; they hold an annual awards ceremony to recognize excellence in film.

New officers were elected during the meeting, with Gary Murray (who reviews for PopSyndicate, TheCityWeb.com and LethalDeath.com) emerging as President; John Meyer (a.k.a. film guy for Pegasus News) stepping up to fill the Vice Presidential role; and Susan Kandell Wilkofsky (film scribe for the Texas Jewish Post and PopSyndicate - and a guest reviewer for Pegasus News) taking on the duties of Secretary.

It was determined that Dec. 31 will be the cutoff date for films to be considered for this year's awards, and that the Association's selected winners in the various award categories would be announced on Jan. 9, 2009.
