Poll by Dallas-based Gold’s Gym finds that Barack Obama would make better workout partner

2

With Election Day here, pundits are tirelessly analyzing reams of data to determine who holds the latest edge in the 2008 United States Presidential Race. Determined to "weigh in" on a potentially neglected campaign issue, national fitness leader Gold's Gym conducted a nationwide poll of more than 3,000 gym-goers to determine which of the two candidates would make the better workout partner. If the Gold's Gym poll can be an early indicator of what to expect at the polls, Democratic Candidate Barack Obama is in good shape for Election Day. Delivering a landslide victory, Obama captured 70% of the vote to defeat Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain (27%).

Gold's Gym announced its poll results two days after California Governor and Gold's Gym founding member Arnold Schwarzenegger commented on the strength of McCain's policies and physique compared to Obama -- calling out the Democratic candidates "skinny legs" and "scrawny little arms."

Separately, to show its support for voters who show up to the polls -- and to help them channel the positive energy they'll get from pulling the lever -- Gold's Gym announced that it is offering a free seven-day VIP membership for participating in this year's election. Any time between now and election day, consumers can bring in proof that they voted to any Gold's Gym location to receive their complimentary membership.
