SMG U reconvenes in Arlington, Dallas and Lewisville with screenings of Zack and Miri
Sorry, folks: no student-made pornos.
Continuing with their SMG U promotion, Studio Movie Grills in Arlington, Lewisville and Dallas (Royal @ Central location) will feature a showing of Zack and Miri Make a Porno this Thursday, Nov. 6, at 10 p.m. (Students should probably not take this as an instructional video - consult with your individual curriculum advisor for an official determination.)
But that's not all, folks. Prior to the screening of the regular movie, there will be a student film presentation, with the student filmmaker(s) responsible there in the auditorium to stand around before and afterward going "aw, shucks," and stuff. Here's what you'll see depending upon which venue you visit:
ARLINGTON: Inside BJ's Head, a documentary short directed by Michael Carpenter and starring BJ Paknia
LEWISVILLE: Neurophilia, a horror short from the 48 Hour Horror Race, with UNT filmmakers David Hamilton, Jimmy Harris, Marcial Trejo in attendance
DALLAS (ROYAL): Casual Separation, with SMU filmmaker David Redish in attendance
NOTE that there will also be special menus in play, customized to each locale. For instance, at the Arlington SMG there'll be (in addition to the all-you-can-eat pizza, available at all locations) Blaze Buffalo Tenders, Mavs Southwestern Wraps and Mavs Margaritas. While at Lewisville you may dine on Mean Green Spinach Artichoke Dip, North Texas Chicken Tenders and wash them down with a Mean Green Margarita. Finally, at the Dallas theater, feel free to feast your taste buds on "Big D" Crispy Southwestern Chicken Salad or a Mega Mustang Burger with a Mustang Margarita chaser.
SMG had a great idea here, but just imagine where they could have taken this: student filmmaker pornos!
