On Thursday, Nov. 6, members of the University of Texas at Dallas Student Government will hold a free event (at 7 p.m. in the Conference Center) designed to help students know their rights when it comes to things relating to interactions with John Law. The goal is to offer guidance on how one can legally and without fear of nightstick pummeling assert one's constitutional rights during such an encounter.
Anyone who has been (or plans on being) pulled over while driving, or feels that they might in fact attend a loud party at some point in their scholastic career, might want to show up for the Know Your Rights Day workshop. The program will include the screening of a video (presumably related to the topic at hand, rather than something like this), along with a presentation by an actual, live UT Dallas police officer: Sgt. Rick Bauer.
Following his presentation, Sergeant Bauer will field questions from the audience, though you might want to withhold ones such as "how much pot is it legal for me to keep at any one time in my dorm room?"
My first question: "Any relation to Jack?"

Can you guys make this an event, so I can get the site to send me an automatic reminder?
I know I can just set it in my cellphone, but it's... so... far... away...

Pavel needs to conduct a litmus test for quality assurance, imo. I'm thinking...publicly slap the officer and ask him to show you the optimal behavior during your arrest. =p

Or he could simply inquire about the rights of one who might be carrying several pounds of C4..
