Dallas designer Judy Pesek named a Life Member of UT’s School of Architecture Advisory Council
DALLAS Judy Pesek, principal and managing partner of Gensler Dallas, has been named a Life Member of The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture Advisory Council, commencing in September 2008.
Elected with seven other architects as new Life Members of the Council, Ms. Pesek has been a member of the Advisory Council since 2005. Life Members must have served on the Council, composed of professionals from throughout the country, for at least three years and have made contributions to the industry and the School of Architecture.
Ms. Pesek’s credentials include the innovative "Gensler Studio," now in its fourth year. Developed in conjunction with the Dean of the School of Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin, the Gensler team teaches rotating fall semesters of the Senior Interior Design Studio at the University. “I proposed a course outline to Dean Fritz Steiner that would accomplish two goals: first, benefit students the most, and second, bring some of the best experts at Gensler to the Studio,” said Ms. Pesek. Both goals were accomplished the first year and Gensler continues to give both time and talent to the students at UT.
A 1978 graduate of UT Austin, with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, has been with Gensler for more than 18 years, serving in the Washington, DC and Houston offices before she became the head of the Dallas office in 2001.
