Keep Allen Beautiful hands out Recycled Art Contest awards
The City of Allen and Keep Allen Beautiful sponsor the Recycled Art Contest for grades Kindergarten through 12th every year in conjunction with Allen Recycles Day.
The award ceremony was held this past Saturday, November 1st at 11 a.m. in City Hall Council Chambers. Debbie Stout and Joey Herald, City Council members, along with Pat Buckley and David Buchanan, Keep Allen Beautiful Board Members, congratulated the winners and gave them their prizes.
First prize for Kindergarten through 4th grades were deluxe art supplies, 2nd prize was a $15 Target gift certificate, and 3rd prize was a KAB t-shirt and other KAB goodies. First prize for 5th and 6th grades was an MP3 Player. All participants received Certificates of Participation and had their photo taken with City and KAB dignitaries.
There were a total of 159 student entries from 13 schools. Following are the winners listed by grade level:
