Rep. Dan Branch elected to Texas House District 108 seat
Dan Branch (R) was re-elected to the seat in Texas House District 108, defeating opponent Emil Reichstadt (D) by 33,404 to 21,715. The district includes parts of Oak Lawn, Park Cities, Uptown, and Old East Dallas; the race was a focal point for gay Democrats who were trying to elect a more "gay-friendly" candidate than Branch, who actively supported a state constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage in 2005.
