News flash: Trinity bridge construction in Dallas will “affect traffic”

Slow news cycle allows stories such as this to actually be published.

This (very) early design concept for the Margaret Hunt Hill Trinity River Bridge wouldn't have had nearly as much affect on traffic

Yes, my friends, it's been a slow news cycle so far this weekend in North Texas and environs. As supporting evidence, witness this insightful story, which explains that, in fact, the construction of new bridges across the Trinity River in downtown Dallas will actually AFFECT TRAFFIC!

Zounds! Methinks a re-evaluation of this whole concept of new bridges might be in order, given this startling information.

My favorite quote is one from a TxDOT spokesperson who states confidently that "You can anticipate that there will be some road closures in the coming future." As opposed to the receding future, one supposes - known colloquially as "the past."

Going forward, in the future, there will be some traffic problems.

That is a 1909 photo taken of the Trintiy River bridge, when it was a wood structure, meanwhile the new bridge's,...of which one will be hunkering down by Singleton and the other bridge to be built is a secret... only because they want to see how much the first one will cost... Poor old Trinity, not good enough for a motor boat to flow through.....oh well on to Ft Worth when you go up river. A.T,.. Survior of the Trintiy flood in 1988.
