Expensive semi-pointless restaurant The Club in the Centrum Building in Dallas is closed

Its sibling restaurants, Trece and Villa-O, are still open.

People are wise now, holding thier money tightly. That trend "boomed" in Dallas from 1998-2006. I was involved with MANY similar nightclubs, Go Lounge, Area 51, Euphoria, Club Life and Kinki to name just a few. We had bottle service ($250-$500) in the booths or VIP tables, annual memberships in the thousands with lavish meals and celebrity events, BUT Dallas has changed for now. Those carefree-spendfree days ended in 2006. I feel they shall return again by 2009.

The day of the ultralongue/restaurant in Dallas has ended for now, thank christ. Its a trend that works in "party cities" (NY/LA/Vegas)but not well in this part of the country. I dont mind a decent upscale restaurant or even club, but when you charge me for bottle service at a table, I take issue.

We Were that rizzy stuff, while the upscale bull came to Dallas around the 1980's....Chris.., we rich folks when we had the money and big families , who would then go and eat at Breanan's, or Patry's or the Old Warsaw on Cedars Spings, now that was the fine dinning, not bottle worship as you so well put, and spent the money in the 1960's and 70's,...... then this J.R Ewing guy showed up and Sue Ellen chew hinm out and then Dallas became hip upscale......... superficialcaladious,expdaleious,....... you know wise guy stuff, now when did Dallas get its first upscale Restraunt, in 1879 over on Main, while the fare at the time was wine, oysters, cheese and champagine.. and so this overall D.N.A, of being so freakey in the mood to dine and wine, but for a price, dates way back.... while going to Ft Worth, they have great B.B.Q, Until then.A.T, ...Frozen food Manager.

A.T., hey The Old Warsaw! Remember when it was on Cedar Springs in the now, gay cowboy bar space called Roundup? It was run by Stan Slawick, the showplace for fine didning in Dallas. My folks lived in the old "Mother Blues Club" house on Lemmon ave. at the time. Slawick's wife Janine still haunts that space, they even have a plaque there on the wall mentioning it! The new Old Warsaw on Maple is good, but not the same as when it was run by Stan. Al Hedary, current owner does well there, he used to just drive a taxi-cab in Dallas many years ago. Good for him, thanks for the memories A.T..

This place was never really even on the radar. I guess the concept was so exclusive no one ever went there.
