Tahitian Noni Cafe in Dallas’ West Village is closed
DALLAS — Tahitian Noni Cafe, in Dallas' West Village, is closed. The odd restaurant-smoothie-voodoo-supplement shop was shut down at the end of September, along with most of the other branches in the United States, as part of a cost-cutting measure by the Tokyo-based company.
"The goal was to cut down on expenses," said a customer service spokesperson. "You can still buy the product over the phone. We only have two offices open in the United States -- one in Queens in New York, the other in Houston in Texas. Every other divisional office was closed. The economy was the reason."
It's a blow for West Village, since the Dallas branch occupied a very visible spot at the corner of Blackburn and McKinney.
Those who still wish to purchase products made with the amazing noni fruit can call the Houston branch at 832-487-1000.

Noni is the Opium spirits of the modern day medicine show. They claim it can cure all but it does very little. That corner deserves a better business that can appeal to all.

Woohoo! If the failure of snake-oil pyramid schemes that prey on the hopes and ignorance of the poor is one of the silver linings of a tanking economy, it'll make the gathering clouds a little less foreboding.

We lived over at the Mondrian for six months. It was a total dump that included with the rent leaks, maggots in the vents, uncalled for fire alarms and noxious sewer gases every couple of weeks. It didn't help that the stupid Nonis were always all over the place trying to score free coffee.
