Dallas-based Lambert Landscape Company wins three Environmental Improvement Awards
DALLAS Lambert Landscape Company announced today that it had won the most prestigious award and was named one of the premier winners at the 39th Annual Environmental Improvement Awards Program sponsored by the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET).
The firm was honored with the Judges Award for 2008, the highest award given, for its submission of a French Neo-Classical Garden, which also was one of three prestigious Grand Awards. Giardino Verde in the Residential Design/Build category and the Ashley Priddy Memorial Fountain in the Commercial Design/Build category also won Grand Awards.
For the dual Judges and Grand Awards project, Lambert’s worked with a high-profile client who “deserves, expects and appreciates a perfectly maintained exterior garden that reflects the grace, glamour and orderly appointment of the home’s interior,” said Paul Fields, ASLA, president and director of design, who was the designer of the one-acre garden.
Located in Preston Hollow, the French Neo-Classical garden is artistically divided into 12 garden rooms each linked by planted mosaic and crushed granite pathways and elegant cut-stone terraces. Oaks and elms and magnolias anchor the foundational plantings of clipped hedges, shrubs, lawns and groundcover. Additionally, antique statues, commissioned artwork, upholstered outdoor furniture, water features and 80-plus containerized plantings are maintained year ‘round by Lambert’s trained gardeners.
The second award went to Giardino Verde. Situated at the convergence of multiple residential streets in Preston Hollow, the Italian-style residence is veiled behind a green screen with 1.8 acres of gardens reminiscent of Renaissance Italy.
The Ashley Priddy Memorial Fountain in Highland Park won the third award. Approached by donors of the fountain, Lambert’s accepted the challenge of the design, installation and construction as well as coordination with the town’s council and citizens. Viewed as a major portal to Highland Park, the original fountain had been built with inferior porous stone, resulting in the need for constant repair. Additionally, the timeframe was narrowed to four months, in which time Lambert’s was able to have the fountain carved in Italy, shipped, constructed and ready for rededication.

Lambert's has been with Dallas many decade's, they were in the very beginning located over by Turtle Creek by what was once a hidden area by the Old Katy Railorad Tracks, then moved to Northwest Highway in the 50's, and from then on they have survived, a Dallas Icon of landscaping, until then..
