Asian Mint spin-off opens on Oak Lawn in Dallas

We like our Asian food like we like our Asian men—sexed up and full of booze. And thankfully, The Mint fits both requirements like a perfectly crafted sauce clinging to a firm, toothsome noodle in a large, beautiful bowl.

By now, you should be well aware of the Asian Mint phenomenon. The tiny space on Forest Lane just west of Central Expressway quickly garnered a devoted fan base of foodies looking for a taste of the Far East that didn’t require ordering by number or getting a Tetinis Tetanus shot after using the restroom.

The place was chic, but most of all, the food was outstandingly delicious. And still is.

But now we’ve got a sibling in the gayborhood and The Mint is every bit as sexy and sophisticated as the original.

Thai dishes intermingle with traditional Chinese dishes, blurring the lines between nationalities, but then offering purist choices, too. A full bar and decadent dessert menu make this tiny spot a place you won’t mind hanging out in for hours—at least when there’s not a line of hungry people eyeing you for your prime seat on the banquette.

Our favorite at both Asian Mint and The Mint has to be the Beef Pad Kee Mow, a wonderfully spicy noodle dish that strikes a sublime balance of heat with sweet and savory notes that compliment the vegetables and pasta like a wonderful ménage à trois for your tongue.

Well, a different ménage à trois for your tongue.

M Malouf, says:

Did you mean to write "Tetanus" shot? Where's the line editor?

M Malouf, thanks for pointing that out. the line editor is out getting whipped with wet noodles, and that spelling error is now fixed. very much appreciate your efforts to make Pegasus News a more literate place!
