Arlington leaf recycling programs gears up with four dropoff locations
The City of Arlington's leaf recycling program began yesterday (Friday, Nov. 14). But, by waiting 'til this morning (Saturday, Nov. 15) to turn your leaves in for recycling, you'll gain an opportunity to pick up a FREE compost bin, courtesy of the city!
Designed to keep big plastic bags of leaves out of landfills (and loose leaves out of storm drains), the leaf recycling program provides four sites around town for residents to take their truckloads of collected leaves.
The four pickup sites are:
* Water South Service Center - 1100 SW Green Oaks Blvd.
* UT-Arlington parking lot on Mitchell St. (baseball lot east of Fielder Road)
* J.W. Dunlop Park - 1500 NW Green Oaks Blvd.
* Bowman Springs Park - 7003 Poly Webb Rd.
To pick up your free compost bin, arrive at one of the sites on Nov. 15 before 12 noon and show proof of (Arlington) residency.
The leaf recycling dropoff sites will be operational until Feb. 28. For more information, call 817-354-2300.
