Dallas ISD student to appear on Oprah
Dalton Sherman
Dalton Sherman, a fifth-grader at Charles Rice Learning Center, made his claim to fame last August with a motivational speech at DISD's back to school "kick-off." He has already appeared on the Ellen Degeneres show and Monday will be interviewed by Oprah for the segment "Oprah's Search for the World's Smartest and Most Talented Kids." And if you haven't heard his famed speech yet, it's worth a listen. As he is pointing to teachers saying "We need YOU," one can't help but think about how many of those teachers are no longer employees of DISD.
