Dear Grandma,
Remember when you played basketball back in your youth? I was wondering if you still had that old uniform in storage, you know, the one that covered up almost every inch of skin.
See, the thing is, the Dallas Mavericks are doing pretty badly right now. On Friday night they lost to the Orlando Magic, which was the first time Orlando has won a game in Dallas since 1997. This is the Mavs' fifth straight loss and they haven't won at home yet this regular season. True, Jason Terry had a 25-point game with nine rebounds, while Dirk Nowitzki picked up 24 points. It seems like they should be able to win one of these games, but it's not to be.
So, Grandma, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind suiting up. I'm sure you could get Prudence from your knitting circle to patch a Mavs logo on the old uniform. Your walker will be a real advantage when boxing out.
Your loving granddaughter,
Erin
