Is Fort Worth (unofficially) getting tough on drunks?
Referencing a slew of new bars and alcohol-dispensing restaurants operating in Fort Worth's downtown region, this story posits that the rise of public intoxication arrests in the city may reflect an attempt on the part of local authorities to curb revelers' out-of-bounds enthusiasm. They've even got a paddywagon assigned to the duty.
Sounds like police officers tasked with getting the drunks off the streets have a really dirty job, what with folks peeing all over the place and swinging fists and such. But at least they have the satisfaction of knowing that they stopped them from getting behind the wheel of their motorized vehicles and possibly killing somebody.
