After more than two years of planning and negotiating, La Duni family announces the opening of the 3rd La Duni Latin Kitchen and Coffee Studio in NorthPark Center at the north entrance right under the AMC Theaters, facing beautiful Center Park.

Set to open Tuesday November 25, the highly anticipated La Duni Latin Kitchen and Coffee Studio reflects the flavors of South America, featuring everything from traditional Latin breakfast foods, to cakes, pastries, coffees, salads, sandwiches or an extraordinary Gaucho Steak from Buenos Aires.

Popular selections include the Empanada of the Day, Tomate con Pollo y Palmitos Salad, Cuban Press Sandwich, Dunia's famed Quatro Leches Cake and more. Along with the many award-winning Latin meal options, La Duni offers a wide variety of hot and cold beverages.

Commended for having the 'Best Cocktails in Dallas' by D Magazine and the Dallas Observer, La Duni's signature Mojito, made with rum, hand-muddled limes, sugar, soda, crushed ice, and a hint of fresh mint is a customer favorite. Along with a large selection of handcrafted cocktails by their Bar Chefs, La Duni features 22 espresso and hot chocolate drinks. (Best coffee in Texas by Texas Monthly).

Highly acclaimed by critics both locally and nationally, La Duni has been named one of the top ten best new restaurants in the U.S. by famed critic John Mariani in Esquire Magazine; "Among the Best Restaurants in America" by Gourmet Magazine and Zagat Guide.

"As always at La Duni, we want each person to feel like they are at home," says Taco. "It is important to us that our customers not only dine, but that they experience our family taste and culture."

La Duni not only serves fabulous foods in an inviting atmosphere, but also offers wedding reception services, as well as planners and to-die-for wedding cakes, candies, hand decorated cookies, confections, chocolates, truffles, soaps, candles, custom party favors and flowers that seem to top it all.

Chef extraordinaire Dunia Borga and her team spends most of their time creating unique, awe-inspiring pastry fantasies that, although unfathomable, taste as good as they look. Along with providing the cake of your dreams, La Duni also coordinates with some of Dallas' top florists as well as in-house florist Metka Terselich, calligraphers and wedding coordinators in order to bring together the reception's perfect pair: romantic ambience and fabulous food. Set a wedding cake appointment in Dunia's private tasting room and be inspired by the Cake Wall.

La Duni at NorthPark offers banquet facilities from 12 to 500 guests and features multiple LCD screens, outdoor projectors and wireless microphones for multi-media presentations. Custom menus and services (flowers, decorations, music, favors, lights and sound) are available to personalize any event. Whether hosting large or small interactive meetings, celebrations, cocktail receptions or corporate meetings, it's all happening in the heart of NorthPark. The unsurpassed atmosphere, award-winning cuisine and staff of la Duni are sure to make an unforgettable evening magical and perfect.

We love La Duni and hope they do well there. I still have to wonder about that location, coupled with this economy, though.

It's far away from parking, there's no walk-by foot traffic down that side-section of mall. Three times I've been by Cibus at lunch since they opened (it's right next door) and it's deserted but for 2-3 people at 12:30 or so.

It's drop-dead gorgeous al fresco space, but no visibility to shoppers or the street.

You know, B#, I just can't get behind the whole La Duni love affair. I guess it's mostly the 100% terrible service and barely-there meals we've had.
