Parker Women’s Club collects donations for active duty soldiers
The Parker Women's Club is collecting donations for active duty soldiers stationed overseas. The types of things they're looking to gather up and send are:
· Non-melting candy, mints & gum
· Dried fruit
· Water flavoring (Kool-Aid, Crystal Light)
· Tea & Coffee
· Canned or pouched tuna or salmon
· Granola and cereal bars
· Trail mix
· Baby wipes
· Zip lock bags
· Sun screen – lips and skin
· Sun glasses
· Hand sanitizer
· Cotton socks
· Baby powder
· DVDs, CDs & audio books
· iTunes & phone cards
· Books, magazines
· Puzzles, cards
· Crossword puzzles, word search Sudoku
· A thank you note – maybe from a child
· A prayer
· Devotional
· Bible (with great military ones available at Marcel’s, it says here)
Not sure how they're gonna pack up that "prayer" one, but they've got their heart in the right place, anyway.
Bring your donations to City Hall, 5700 E. Parker Rd., by Nov. 20. For further information, call Jane Marshall at 972-403-0305.
