SXSW announces call for entries from young filmmakers
If you're a high-school age person (grades 9 through 12) who's produced a five-minute or shorter film, and you think it's worthy, you have until Dec. 20 to submit it for consideration in the SXSW Texas High School Film Competition.
This marks the fifth annual such contest, allowing student filmmakers a chance to have their work showcased at the 2009 SXSW Film Festival (set for March 13-21).
Note that only films completed in 2008 will be considered, and all films chosen as finalists will be shown in a special program as part of the 2009 SXSW Film schedule. Final judging will be done by a panel of independent filmmakers and industry leaders.
There's a $10 submission fee, but - heck - that's little more than the cost of a couple of visits to Starbucks. (Or maybe just one, depending upon your level of caffeine addiction.)
Further information can be found here.
See you in Austin!
