Angelika Dallas touts Vampire Combo cafe deal this Friday
Twilight or Let the Right One In plus a red velvet cupcake? We're all over it like a leech on Bogart.
Whether or not the Angelika schedulers planned it this way, the fact that two vampire-themed films will be playing at their venue beginning on Friday (Nov. 21) offers the opportunity for a fantastic little fan-friendly event.
If you're a rabid fan of bloodsuckers, plan on spending at least some part of Friday evening at the Angelika Dallas, where - from 7 - 11 p.m. - you can treat yourself to a showing of the soon-to-be hit Twilight (check back here on Nov. 21 for Alex's review - including an interview with male lead Robert Pattinson), or the soon-to-be remade by J.J. Abrams Let the Right One In (reviewed here).
Billed as "truly bloody," one's purchase of a Vampire Combo at the Angelika Cafe (for the low, low price of $6) entitles one to a red velvet cupcake and all the (non-alcoholic) blood-red punch one might ever hope to consume. (One cup, we're guessing.)
Furthermore, there will be Twilight character look-alikes on hand for purposes of your photo posing needs, and you'll have a chance to have vampire bites painted onto your neck by a professional "neck painter." (Who knew that was even a legitimate trade?) No extra charge.
NOTE: for those who are "dead serious" about this sort of thing, the same cupcake-and-punch cafe combo deal applies for the midnight screenings of Twilight scheduled for the night of Nov. 20 (Thursday).
