Principal at Dallas ISD school doesn’t evacuate following a bomb threat
Thomas Edison Learning Center in Dallas received a bomb threat Friday, but the principal opted not to evacuate the school because he believed the call was a prank. Enter the onslaught of angry parents horrified of what would have happened had the call not been a prank. DISD's policy is that the decision rests with the principal and according to Dallas Police, the decision lies with the property owner.

It's good to see some common sense being used for once. You know how many prank threats are made every school year? A lot. If schools were forced to evacuate every time, then there would be no classes during any testing days because students would be calling all the time! This is the reason they finally had to let the principals make the call - it isn't because they don't care about the kids. Gimme a break! I find it difficult to believe there is a whole bunch of terrorists around just plotting to randomly blow up schools. The threat is nil. We can start coming down off the fear mongering that G.W. Bush has instilled in everyone now.

Bush, or Columbine and the ensuing rash of issues? Hardly fear-mongering on W's part. Media played this stuff up more than he ever could.
