Dallas’ Half Price Books suspends community room reservations, de-activates calendar

In simpler times, folks could just schedule their group events on the community calendar. (Those were the days.)

In simpler times, folks could just schedule their group events on the community calendar. (Those were the days.)

As noted in this announcement on their website (under "Calendar of Store Events" tab) - and as indicated directly to Pegasus News via email - the Community Room at Half Price Books (on NW Hwy., in Dallas) will no longer be reserving space for organizations or groups, and thus their calendar of events hinging upon the use of that facility is invalidated (effective immediately).

According to Community Relations and Promotions Manager Becky Gomez, "we have contacted our customers who use the community room to let them know we are suspending the calendar and all reservation for the time being."

The good news is that they still (we're pretty sure) have books for sale - and Black Forest coffee and pastries.

Contact the corporate office at 214-360-0833 for further information.

I now call it Whole Price Book after I dumped my last batch there 7 years ago, got around 6 dollars for 200 dollars of books, then again I knew Ken Jemery when he set the store up on Mckinney Ave in the early 1970's and complained to him about the High price Half price in the mid 1980's, oh well here is an intresting story all the same.... I love books but cant part with them unless I get half price also..A/T. Book Recycler.

Yeah, don't ever sell your books to Half Price if you want to make any sort of money. There's a reason their books don't cost a lot - they don't spend much paying you for the ones you bring in.
