TCU
Quarterback Andy Dalton passed for 321 yards and two touchdowns as the TCU Horned Frogs routed the Air Force Academy 44 to 10 at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth. The win leaves TCU at 10-2 for the season giving the Frogs 10 wins for the third time in the last four years. Receiver Jimmy Young caught five passes for 100 yards giving him 926 yards receiving on the season which is the second best single-season receiving yards at TCU. Young finished the year with four 100 yard receiving games.
Among other notables, the game against Air Force marked the 99th game for Gary Patterson as head coach for the Horned Frogs. Patterson’s record is 72-27. Other notables include 40 wins in four years for the Horned Frog class which is the most in TCU history and the 2008 Horned Frog offense was the most prolific in TCU history scoring 420 points and 54 touchdowns, both of which are single-season records.

UNT
In Murfreesboro, TN, the University of North Texas Mean Green was unable to contain the Middle Tennessee State attack losing 52-13 as the Blue Raiders rolled up 489 yards of total offense including 237 yards on the ground. As in their previous games, UNT gave up big play after big play which put them in a huge hole. Middle Tennessee scored six touchdowns in less than four minutes of play getting touchdown in drives of 22 seconds, 27 seconds, 40 seconds, 33 seconds and one minute 33 seconds to go along with a kickoff for a touchdown in the third quarter.
In spite of the hole UNT dug, Mean Green quarterback Giovanni Vizza completed 25 of 39 passes for 221 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. UNT receiver Casey Fitzgerald also had a big game catching 12 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown from Vizza. Fitzgerald has over 1,020 yards receiving on the year and can add to his numbers next week when the Mean Green host the Arkansas State Red Wolves.
