“End the Fed” protesters assemble in downtown Dallas
Turns out there was more than one public gathering taking place downtown on Saturday.
Judging by his impassioned megaphone-powered ranting, Dallas-born (now Austin-based) radio talk show host Alex Jones is kind of like an anti-establishment Keith Olbermann on PCP: he's mad, and he's not going to take it any more.

Saturday's (Nov. 22) protest in front of the Federal Reserve Building in Dallas was more-or-less dominated by Mr. Jones, from what I can tell from the scarce reportage on the event. (One of the few online sources to cover the End the Fed Day protests - one of which took place in front of the Federal Reserve in Dallas, and which appears to have been at least moderately well attended - was Russia Today, whose headline proclaims: "Angry Americans protest against U.S. monetary policy.")
While more restrained and contemplative crowds gathered a few blocks away to mark the 45th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination (which Mr. Jones, about four minutes into his above-linked rant, blames on the Fed and their CIA brethren), a different crowd stood around to cheer support for their spokesguy, occasionally breaking in with chants of "end the fed, end the fed!" while Mr. Jones paused to catch his breath - if not to collect his thoughts.
What I find notable about this whole thing is the fact that there appears to have been no mainstream media coverage of the event, which apparently at least attracted the attention of the police (who came out to maintain order) and the no-doubt somewhat abashed employees inside the Federal Reserve building - who Jones kept referring to as "criminals" and "low down, money-changing thieves" and "cold-blooded eugenicists." (Not exactly sure how he came up with that one, but whatever.)
Looks like CBS 11 posted a three-sentence news brief about the protest, here - while none of the other local online media presences, including DMN, Fox, Star-Telegram, NBC5i and WFAA, reported anything about this hootenanny (as of this posting). Which will go a long way toward fueling the paranoiac fires that typically burn so brightly amongst marginalized ideological groups.

The anti-Fed crowd can protest to their hearts' content, but so what if the so-called mainstream media doesn't cover it. Pegasus News covered it. That's more than an attention-seeking radio talk show host deserves.

Alex Jones is a nut, plain and simple. He always blames someone else for his own or his familys own misfortune, then gives it a conspiracy spin. He's the guy who introduced the concept of the "Black Helicopter" into the popular conspiracy lexicon.
I had a friend who worked at the austin commnuity cable channel when he was doing his show "Infowars" in the late 90's, told me quite a few tales of him getting into shouting matches with anyone in the office for something as simple as looking at him cross-eyed. The guy is an unstable control freak that cant admit he's a 100% dellusional nut.

I was the organizer for the Dallas Rally to Support Sound Money for America or End the Fed as it's commonly called!
We contacted DPD and asked them to come and help US keep order. We worked with some terrific people from DPD- especially Allen, Liz and Jeff.
We didn't want any trouble and we invited them to help us make sure there wasn't any.
We had a great turn out, at least 200 at the peak.
Alex Jones happened to be in town for the JFK anniversary and joined us.
This wasn't an Alex Jones event, although he did get lots of press and attention.
This is just the first of many, some smaller, some larger rallies to be held nationwide in the future.

I was at the rally, supported the rally, and want to mention that though Alex Jones was there, he does not represent the movement. He is just one guy, stating his opinion. I suppose unfortunately while holding a bull horn. I say unfortunately only because I feel when you are trying to explain something simple, and you go off on tangeants, you seem to lose the interest of the people your trying to get to understand your point.
His heart is in the right place, at least in regards to this topic. Plane and simple... we need to end the fed. I have made a video (Conspiracy Free) that explains why.

There are other great videos out there... as Debbie mentioned, money as debt and fiat empire, others to watch like Freedom to Fascism.
Anyway... I hope people understand a good cause with an arrogant speaker, is still a good cause.

Like him or not, Alex Jones brought a whole lot of energy to the protest. I suspect that without his presence the enthusiasm would have been greatly reduced.
Many of us have no idea what money is and how the monetary system works. The Federal Reserve isn't really Federal. It is owned by private interests, many of which are not even in the US.
I recommend everyone watch this video which explains what money is and how it is created. Once you understand how the Federal Reserve operates, and how it affects you, you will see the validity of the protests.

I've read many explanations of fractional reserve banking, and below is the most concise one in layman's terms:

It explains national debt very well.
Bottom line: 1) The "Fed" is privately owned as determined by US Courts ('Lewis vs State' was rejected as the Fed is not considered to be part of the government)
2) 95% of money does not exist as bank notes or coins. It was created out of thin air when people take loans.
3) Interest is charged on that money created out of nothing.
4) Money to pay the interest comes out of the money pool... hence the money pool has to keep on growing just to pay interest (it grows primarily by new loans being created, not by printing more money). Alternatively, govt debt has to grow just to prevent the system from collapsing.
The cycle is ultimately unsustainable - resulting in foreclosures.
It is the ROOT CAUSE of the financial crisis that led to the housing bubble.
