People show up at Dallas’ Dealey Plaza to commemorate assassination, buy trinkets
In a sense, I suppose you could say they're stimulating the local economy.
Yesterday (Nov. 22) marked the 45th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination, and as usual on that day people showed up in Dealey Plaza to commemorate the event. Some folks just feel drawn to the locale and the semi-legendary details surrounding what happened there.
Naturally, where groups of people with a specific interest can reliably be found, vendors of trinkets relating to their area of interest also appear, as they reportedly did on this occasion to peddle assassination-related paraphernalia.
