Santa Claus is coming to town - specifically, to Arlington - on Dec. 6 this year, presumably taking time out from his hectic toy-making schedule to sit for kid photos at the Levitt Pavilion following that city's annual parade and tree lighting event.

By arriving at the Levitt Pavilion early (say, by 4 p.m.), holiday revelers (celebrants? adherents? enthusiasts?) will have a chance to hear live holiday music courtesy of the Arlington Community Band and the First Baptist Church Choir.

The parade itself is set to begin at 6 p.m., with 75-some-odd floats ("illuminated by thousands of twinkling lights") winding through downtown Arlington and the University district (for about 90 minutes) before ending up at Levitt Pavilion. Reference this site for the full parade route.

Those lining the parade route are encouraged to bring their own stuff to sit on, be it a folding chair or a well-trained partner, friend or casual acquaintance.

This event is sponsored the the Star-Telegram.
