Things closed (and open) on Thanksgiving Day (and the day after) in Arlington
All City of Arlington municipal golf courses will be open as usual over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, including on Turkey Day itself, with hours set for 6:30 a.m. 'til 2 p.m., so you can get in a round before bellying up to the table. Furthermore, you (as one of the golfing elite) can benefit from special weekend/holiday rates.
As far as other municipal facilities are concerned, the outlook is far less festive - unless you consider a day off for city employees to be festive. Here's the stuff that will be closed on and/or inoperative on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27:
* The Arlington Municipal Building (City Hall)
* The Municipal Office Tower
* Arlington Municipal Court
* George W. Hawkes Central Library and all branch libraries
* Parks and Recreation Department Administrative Offices
* Handitran Office and Handitran special transportation services
* All Senior Recreation Centers
* All City of Arlington Recreation Centers
* Hugh Smith Indoor Pool
* Lake Arlington Operations
* Arlington Tennis Center
* No garbage or recycling pickups will occur
